Year 6 - Swimming data 2024-2025

 

Swimming at Westfield School is important to us. As a life-saving skill we encourage all of our children to work towards achieving the National expectation of 25m unaided swimming.

 

Our sessions aim to:

 

  • Build water confidence and buoyancy followed by the introduction of different strokes.
  • Introduce different strokes
  • Work on technique, stamina and speed to be more efficient in the pool.

 

 

 

Meeting national curriculum requirements for swimming and water safety.

 

 

 

 

Swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres.
